Students embrace bigger and better 'have a go' day at Kidbrooke Construction Skills Centre

London South East Colleges, working in partnership with Berkeley Homes, welcomed over 50 students from across three schools in the Royal Borough of Greenwich - Stationers' Crown Woods Academy, Thomas Tallis School and The Halley Academy, to take part in an exciting 'have a go' day this month. The students were given a taste of two very popular trades to promote construction as a potential career choice.

Sports students win Achievement Awards after proving just how powerful friendship can be!

Friends Paige Greaves and Katrina Chambers-Jones, who are students at London South East Colleges' Bromley Campus, have both won Achievement Awards from the Jack Petchey Foundation. Katrina suffers from an illness which affects her mobility but doesn’t let it stop her from achieving, especially with the help and support of her friend, Paige. The girls’ peers and teachers believe Paige and Katrina are deserving of this recognition as they work well as friends to overcome struggles and work to the best of their ability at college.

Frighteningly good work on display at the Hair Show

Hair and beauty students based in the ‘enhance’ salon at London South East Colleges’ Bromley Campus put their technical and creative skills into action this week and produced a show full of stunning creativity, colour and imagination as they competed for prizes at the College's annual Hair Show. This year, the themes were horror for level 2 students and international culture and tradition for the level 3s.

Holocaust survivor delivers important lesson from the past

Ruth Barnett escaped and survived one of the most horrific events in history - namely The Holocaust. This week (on Wednesday 18 April) she made her way to London South East Colleges’ Greenwich Campus to address a packed audience about her and her brother Martin’s ordeal at the hands of the Nazis prior to the outbreak of World War II. She also paid tribute to her parents and prominent figures at the time such as Nicholas Winton, Wilfrid Israel and Frank Foley whose kindness, heroism and bravery led to their survival.

Julia's fantastic journey leads her to top US university
