SEND and AP Green Paper: These are encouraging proposals, now we must see enacted reform

From inconsistent, overly-bureaucratic processes and long delays in processing EHCPs to a national shortage of SEND professionals including educational psychologists and speech therapists – these are common issues that our own SEND and AP schools are dealing with every day.

Apprentice makes a difference at alternative provision school

Level 3 Teaching Assistant Phoebe Humphris, 18, has made great strides in her career by taking an apprenticeship at the Midfield campus of Bromley Academy Trust. This alternative provision school is part of the wider London South East Academies Trust, which creates an engaging and supportive learning environment for children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school.
